I guess they just announced Bioshock Infinite with a new trailer and game synopsis, + some purty pictures. It takes place in 1912 in a city in the sky…

Thursday, August 12th, 2010Starcraft Download
Friday, July 16th, 2010This is a really good idea… you can download Starcraft II before it comes out, then just activate it on the 27th. I had wondered about this, because I had wanted to play it when it came out, but figured their servers would crash when I was buying/downloading it from online.

Monday, July 12th, 2010Bummer, Harvey Pekar died.
Portal 2 Vids
Monday, July 5th, 2010Speaking of steam, if you go to the videos section, there are a ton of previews of Portal 2 involving many new mechanics and the return of GLaDOS.
TMHT?
Friday, June 25th, 2010I am recently told that in Britain, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles because they felt like “ninja” was too dark. That is all.
The Future is Thursday!
Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010Futurama starts up again on thursday… woo hoo! I totally forgot about it. Tons of stuff about it on this comedy central page.
Personally, I would not be surprised at a Family Guy-style internet backlash, but so long as I can spend time watching Bender steal things again I’ll be pretty happy anyway.
Edit: Plus this rather tantalizing interview with David X Cohen at entertainment weekly.
Crazy Science Shiz
Monday, June 7th, 2010Apparently they can teleport information now? That is some seriously sick goodness.
Also sick goodness: tumbleweed probes! I really like the idea of planetary probes that rely on the planet’s (here: Mars’s) wind to move all over the place. Millenia-old sail technology for the win.
Edit: I forgot about how damn cool four-propeller “quadrotor” helicopters could be. Here’s a working minature model doing flips, flying at odd angles and such.
Oh Noes
Thursday, June 3rd, 2010This article published in the British Medical Journal in 2008 establishes that safe headbanging should involve neck rotation at <75 degrees to avoid minor head injury at beats of 146 bpm or more. Frankly, I believe I shall take its advice to listen to adult-oriented rock instead.
Lo, do you have some puss-rock you can recommend me?

Sunday, May 23rd, 2010I would assume that this movie would be career suicide if it wasn’t Danny Boyle that was directing it. And it still might be. But I vaguely suspect that Boyle could pull it off, and I am curious as to how.
