Groening Interview

Wednesday, February 28th, 2007

There’s a pretty good Groening interview out that takes on Futurama, The Simpsons Movie, and a little bit of South Park/Family Guy. I enjoyed most of the interview but I really can’t help thinking that MG has got to be a bit out of the loop on such a large show. I also like his discussion of why he still does a solo comic.

The Onion does teen-on-homeless violence.

300

Monday, February 26th, 2007

I think it may be because of the similar writing style, but that 12 Awesomest Games review down below reminded me to post this extremely enthusiastic review of 300. Apparently the movie will “give your eyes boners, make your balls scream and make you poop DVD copies of THE TRANSPORTER.” Sounds good to me.

Get your Momentum

Monday, February 26th, 2007

Momentum Video Magazine has made an appearance in its premier issue. Yes, it’s about climbing, but I really like the layout and seamless video playback (at least from my end of things). I remember reading some other multimedia magazines back in the day and I never really liked them all that much, so it’s nice to see a more polished and readable project. Check out the “players” section to see Jason Kehl climb, which is pretty impressive no matter how much you like or dislike climbing.

The 12 Awesomest Games of 2010

Monday, February 26th, 2007

It’s not straight journalism, it’s not very well written, but some of it is hilarious – enjoy the 12 Awesomest Games of 2010. Some hilights are:
Mass Driver and Total Kung Fu – both pictures are great. Hard Cell and World of Starcraft also deserve a mention.

Anyhow, read for some light entertainment.

just want to remind y’all of my blog ticket to read, which recently hit an all-time high of 43 views in one day. in the last two months i’ve started getting really heavy into graphic fiction, primarily chris ware, anders nilsen and kevin huizenga. (i have josh to blame for planting the comics seed a while back when he lent me “blankets.”) i am taking suggestions for more good stuff to read!

Meth, hookers, and magazines

Hobo killing may be the new posh thing to do, but what about the dangerous lives of magazines salespeople.

Jay ‘s Mom: Guitar Hero

Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

My parents called me last night to tell me they bought a PS2 so my mom could play guitar hero (of course, Dad had no problem with buying the PS and Battlefront). She played it at a friend’s house and loved it. She promised to bring it with her when she came out to visit so my friends and I could try it. I’m exited, to say the least.
