Coolest damn thing I’ve seen in a long, long time. It’s like Boring3D… only it’s photography:

oh… and in reference to Nightmare on Elm Street (or well, technically “Halloween” I believe):

Read all about the potential remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street. Personally, I like the first film a lot even though Shaun didn’t react so well when I forced him to watch one of the later parts.
Everything you need to know about lost in 8:15
I left LOST after season 2 and I never looked back (except for maybe the season 3 teaser). This recap of seasons 1-3 makes me miss some parts of the show but certainly not the long drawn-out pseudo mind-fucks that the writers play on the readers. That’s a conversation for another day, though. Just watch the freaking clip.
p.s. Nope, no desire to start a new Season.
Here’a micro review for ya. Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords is a pretty standard puzzle game (match three or more gems of the same color either vertically or horizontally) mixed with a pretty decent RPG element. Thing is, those multicolored gems each represent something. We’ve got four different colors for their respective mana representations; piles of coins for, well, gold; skulls, which inflict damage; experience gems; and wildcards. I won’t say too much more other than TRY THIS. I’m playing the DS version but there’s also releases for the PSP (that apparently has a pretty big bug), PC, Wii, and XBLA. Still a bit confused? Check out the video review. I give this game a 9.5 out of ten for amazing addiction level (that far surpasses rocket mania), good fusion of puzzle action and slightly hardcore RPG elements, and, well, just for being awesome.

Last, which is a social music network and web broadcaster [and is owned by CBS these days], has cut a deal with 4 big labels to stream their music on demand, in exchange for a cut of the on site ad revenue. In other words, the same deal as regular radio, just with user choice in music. It’s such an obvious answer, I don’t know why it took this long to bother to do.
Today’s (or should I say, this month’s) picture is “disconnection” and falls into the category of doodle-turned-full-size-drawing; I guess that’s the downside of doodling on bigger paper. The obvious exercise here was drawing a one-point perspective. Meh. “disconnection” is vaguely related to another picture I posted a while ago in the sense that they both just started as doodles. I think “disconnection” works a bit better. However, I feel that they both work even better on a smaller scale, something akin to a frame in a comic. I think the question of presentation ultimately comes down to this: is it art? Probably not.
Enjoy.
In these You Tube videos, this guy flips his Wii remote around and uses it to capture his motion. The guy starts by explaining that the wii remote is actually an infra red camera. The “light bar” for the Wii is actually just infrared led lights(I didn’t know this previously, but the video explains it). The remote judges how it has moved by looking at the change in it’s perspective of the light bar. The guy in the videos moves the light source around and lets the remote talk to his computer over bluetooth. The remote captures his motion, and updates the display accordingly. He uses it to turn his TV into a true 3D display (like a window instead of a picture) and to use his TV like a touch screen iphone.
…is the best kind. Stolen from J (& Company’s) blog, here’s a video where a monkey is trained to move a joystick. The joystick moves a robot arm. Eventually, the scientists are able to connect the robot arm to the monkey brain, and it moves along with the joystick, but controlled only by brain signals. Then the crazy, crazy, sick thing happens about 4.30 into the video.
Also, here’s a nytimes article describing basically the same thing with a walking robot instead of an arm.
The article and video were just too cool not to have been cross-posted.
Apparently Oliver Stone will be directing a biopic of George W. Bush. Josh Brolin looks to be playing the part. I really don’t think there could be a way to make an unbiased one. Link.
