Out

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

I’ll be moving here on Saturday. I’m pretty “jazzed” about it as it is fairly close to my work (<10 min) and to the train, and to the best of my knowledge the rest of my family do not live in the closet. Phone will stay the same, as will email. Anyone needs the address for some reason lemme know. Edit: I may be offline for a few days when not at work. Expected return date: Wed 3/5.

True Patriot

Saturday, February 23rd, 2008

I think some people here watch 24, so I thought y’all may appreciate this story concerning someone who began ramming another man’s car on a highway, screaming that he was Jack Bauer and the other man a terrorist. I don’t watch it, but I still think this is pretty fantastic.

As a tag-on post, there’s apparently a Clowes-Gondry collaboration in the works.

goobees ho!

Friday, February 22nd, 2008

Hey all,

one more post about my animitions stufforz. Goobees is finally officially 100% done final done. Another member of Team Goobee sent it off to 3D World magazine and they are going to feature it as their short film of the month in their April issue (2 page spread!!). We’re waiting to hear back form festivals adn whatnot, and we’re hoping this helps get it noticed.

Anywho, if you’re not too sick of it, the final version is up on the freshly minted goobees homepage: goobeesFilm.com

GTA

Thursday, February 21st, 2008

Yeah… I’m amazed that I somehow missed this when it happened, but apparently back in 2004 someone went on a rampage with an armored bulldozer, destroying buildings related to people whom he had perceived as destroying his business through zoning laws. Apparently he spent a year and a half modifying the thing with concrete slabs, steel plates, video cameras, food and water before sealing himself into it. The commentary over the clip (apparently this clip is from Fox) is ridiculous, but the footage is actually really fairly scary. Many cars are run over, some buildings are destroyed, and the police try to disable it using an earth-scraper. Strangely, some people seem to think positively of this, in a folk-hero way, though I’m sure some of it is for fun. Wikipedia explains more.

15 Most Annoying Video Game Characters

Thursday, February 21st, 2008

Some guys put together a list of annoying video game chracters and ranked them. I agree that they should all be on the list, but I think the order is a bit off at times. For instance, Navi is not in the top 5. I find this to be an atrocity, since by the end of Ocarina, I just wanted to pull her stupid wings off.

Things White People Like

Favorites include:

  • Difficult Breakups: “The majority of white person art is created after a difficult breakup”, “It is imperative that you do not attempt to kick them out of their misery by saying things like ‘get over it,’ ‘there are other people out there,’ or ‘I don’t want to read your poem.’”
  • Bicycles
  • Public Radio: “White people have an uncanny ability to make the ordinary exciting and there is no better forum than public radio to best showcase this.” Specifically, white people love This American Life
  • Coffee

Many of them are pretty funny, and the later ones tend to be better than the earlier stuff.
