Sweet Fantasy Art

ok actually it’s all “He-man” inspired, and it’s all pretty awesome. I’d seen one or of these before making their rounds on the internets, but I’d never seen this huge collection of high-res awesomeness.

That was massive. Yeah, I’ve seen “Cosmo Skeletor” before but had no idea it was for anything other than the internets. There were some excellent pieces there and I’m pretty impressed by the quality of most of the pieces.

Think most of that went over my head, I never saw the show. Had the toys nevertheless. But yeah, a couple looked phoned in a but a lot were great. Reminds me of a lot of the stuff we saw in Berlin. Is this pop-culture-80′s-art thing really that big Senor Darw1n? If so, why haven’t you cashed in (half-joking)? Some of those things sold for bumload.

I don’t know if pop-culture-80′s-art is particularly big, but “lowbrow” art, or whatever you want to call it, has huge momentum. Yes, lots of the art you saw here probably fell into that category. My work might, but only on a good day. More imitation of the style than synthesis. Your thoughts, Mr. Lo? Is this a California thing? Secondly, should we curate a Thundercats show and make some bank?

Huh, that wikipedia thing sounded exactly like a lot of the stuff we saw there. Cool!
