Sorry for the rushed show-notes format but I’m on the run and need to be out of here in about 25 minutes and still have much packing to do. No show next week, but will be back on task around the 28th of the month.

Enjoy.

Plain Dealer Podcast Article

As promised, though a bit late, I’ve produced a copy of the The Plain Dealer podcast article from yesterday’s paper. It’s in a nice n’ small 2-page pdf that you can get RIGHT HERE. Lemme know if anyone has trouble opening it.

p.s. there is more about the darw1n.net/podcast on the second page towards the end of the article.

Back from the dead? No, unless that means super powers and a temporary loss of memory which is remedied over several episodes leading to a shocking conclusion. Show #12 is choc-full of nudity, profanity, and wreckless endagerment of child-like wonder. Grab some Jiffy-Pop and a Pabst, cause this is a long show.

Podcast Hosts

I have been, and always will, be a firm supporter of dreamhost for affordable web hosting. However, if you are a new podcaster and are only looking for a storage space, consider Liberated Syndication for your hosting needs. They offer a 5$/mo plan that includes 100MB of monthly storage. They have no bandwidth restrictions, etc. Keep in mind, however, that for 9$/mo I have 160GB of bandwidth and 2400MB of storage space with dreamhost. Life is good.

darw1n.net podcast::02-09-2005, the podcast that never was

No, darw1n.net/podcast is not on hiatus. The would-be short show has been skipped in favor of devoting more time to retooling. Despite what one may think, making a podcast isn’t the easiest thing in the world, so I’m trying to take the time to make a good one, which is even tougher. However, look for something later in the week.

To fill the time, you can easily simulate the darw1n.net/podcast™ experience.

Step 1) go to archive.org and click on the audio section
Step 2) download two songs with a latino-sounding name
Step 3) play the first 45 seconds of the first song
Step 4) start speaking to yourself and your imaginary “audience”
Step 5) ocassionally drink water
Step 6) play the last minute of the second song while telling said “audience” to go to podcast alley
Step 7) (optional) make a blog post about your experience and include a zany darw1n.net/podcast™-esque picture

AND as an added bonus you can watch this piece of flash irreverence that I created last year.

Holy crap, massive retooling needed. I’m tired, you’re tired. The short length of today’s podcast is a feature, not a bug.
